Please check out the following documentary, Made in Taiwan. Taiwan is Hawaiiki, the Austronesian homeland. It is important for Taiwan to preserve its Austronesian languages and cultures.

Great videos!

My aunt, from a village ("Tzui-beh") in Changhwa, and her siblings call their mother "Ayi" ("Ah-Yee"); same as Niwa (at 3:53 of video#4).

My aunt's family members all have big, round eyes. Obviously, their family is Polynesian. However, they think they are Hölö and don't believe that they have a Polynesian heritage.
